Artist Profile

Atiqah Yunos considers herself an aspiring artist. She is based in Shah Alam and has been lucky enough to have her art pieces been displayed in a gallery and a number of art event around Lembah Klang and bought by collectors in Malaysia and Australia. Her artworks are inspired by her adoration towards traditional Malay architecture.

 

Growing up in a kampung household, Atiqah Yunos is very fond of traditional culture and always fascinated with the beauty of Malay kampung houses. She proudly features her grandparents’ house, the beautiful Rumah Besar Mariam Bako in several of her art pieces. 

 

Each of her artworks is brought to life with a sense of nostalgic feeling infused into her main subject as the background. Her passion and devotion to art may be found in her detailing of the artwork. 

 

The mediums she plays with to create her art are wet media (either watercolor or acrylic) and dry media (pen and marker); although, she prefers the latter as she could produce works that the details are precise, yet richly emotional. 

 

Often mistaken as an architect, Atiqah Yunos is a graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and has been in biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry then venture herself in entrepreneurship. She hopes to share her love of Malay cultural heritage through her art pieces, and it always be her proudest moment to have people around showing their delight and enjoyment to her artworks.
